Deep South District
Founded in 1958, we are the Deep South District of the American Rose Society, which is headquartered in Shreveport, Louisiana. We represent 19 local rose societies in Alabama, Georgia and Florida. The American Rose Society exists to promote the culture, preservation and appreciation of the Rose, and to improve its standard of excellence for all people, through education and research. Our District’s mission is to help every rose enthusiast grow and enjoy roses in the Deep South.
A Message from Karen Prevatt, DSD Director
Hi, I am Karen J. Prevatt, the Deep South District of the American Rose Society. Welcome to
our website. Take a moment and read through our website and become acquainted with who
we are.
We are passionate about roses. Growing roses, showing them, photographing them and
arranging them. We invite you to join local rose societies in our district of Florida, Georgia and
Alabama and to join the American Rose Society. Members in our District are always happy to
talk with you about growing roses and taking care of them. Feel free to contact me or one of the
Consulting Rosarians listed in our website who live in your area of the Deep South.
