A message from Cindy Dale, District Director on COVID-19

Dear rose friends,
These are difficult times, dealing with the COVID-19 virus and all its ramifications. None of us wants to see our rose society meetings cancelled just as Spring is breaking forth. None of us wants to cancel our beloved rose shows that we look forward to so much and yet it is crystal clear that these measures are what’s needed for this unprecedented situation. I know that some of you are struggling with lost jobs, child care, and other issues that are even more pressing than cancelled shows. Hopefully, this will all be resolved soon but please stay safe and follow all the CDC recommendations until it is. Fortunately, we are blessed to have the wonderful hobby of growing roses. Our gardens provide us solace, beauty, fresh air, exercise, and the opportunity to get away from all the depressing news for a short time. Sharing your rose photos on social media will give us all a lift and soon we’ll be allowed to gather again. Then we can use this quote by Richard B. Sheridan… “Won’t you come into the garden? I would like my roses to see you.”

You’re in my thoughts.
Cindy
