District Director's Message

Welcome to the Deep South District of the American Rose Society.  It is my pleasure to serve as the District Director and oversee the myriad activities in our District. We represent rose societies and rose growers in the States of Alabama, Georgia and Florida.  As a tax exempt entity we promote and provide education for good horticultural practices for rose growing in the Deep South.  The District is comprised of 35 local rose societies and more than one thousand individual members.

The District holds an annual convention each autumn hosted by a local society and a mid-winter meeting the third weekend in January.  A judging school every two years is held for members to learn how to judge entries at rose shows held throughout the country.  The District also holds consulting rosarian classes each year for members who teach others to grow healthy roses in their local societies.  An annual rose photography competition is sponsored for those rosarians who are also digital camera enthusiasts.
