WELCOME to the
home page of the Deep South District of the American
Rose Society. This web site was created to serve as a
source of information on rose culture unique to the Deep
South. The DSD is made up of local rose societies
affiliated with the American Rose Society within the
states of Alabama, Florida and Georgia.
We are here to
provide information relating to the cultivation and
exhibition of the rose, creation of floral arrangements
featuring the rose and to disseminate information about
events and activities of interest to Rosarians in
the District.
Our members
represent all levels of experience and interest in the
Rose in all its diversity. Whether you are a novice rose
gardener or a serious exhibitor, we strive to have
relevant content to make us all better rosarians. We all
share a common love of roses and are all committed to promoting the Rose.
You
are encouraged to get in touch with a
local rose society
near you. Their Consulting Rosarians will be
glad to help you solve any problems you may encounter in
planting and caring for your roses and provide growing
information specific to your region of our diverse
District. Joining a local society will give you a
constant source of information so that you can grow
better roses and make your investment in them most
rewarding. We also encourage you to
subscribe to the Deep South District Bulletin,
our quarterly publication dedicated to bringing all
rosarians important and useful information from the Deep
South.
